What about interest groups

We can show you two major interest group in our country.

 First we have the NMA( nigerian medical association).This organisation known as the largest medical association in west Africa have as objectives to:

•  Ensure the medical and dental practitioners uphold the hippocratic oath
• Promote health advancement and allied sciences
• Promote welfare and medical interaction
• Consider and express views on all proposed legislations and national issues especially those affecting health care delivery system, medical and dental education in Nigeria.

They are moving on strategies like:

• Local activism for good governance in the health care sector
• Advocacy of policies and programs to improve  health care delivery
• Aliance with UNDP(united nations development program)
• Film projection and dramas organisation on the major illnesses

OBJECTIVES:

• Use laws as an intrument for  social change
• Promotion and advancement of legal education
• Encouragement and protection of the right of access to court at reasonably and affordable fees
• Promotion and protection of the principles of the rule of law and respect for enforcement of fundamental rights,human rights and people's right

STRATEGIES:

• Electoral reform
• Anti corruption
• Economic reform
• Professional standars and ethics
• Justice sector reform
• Promotion of african regional human rights mechanism
